Thank you! RNI stands for Really Nice Images. They make film emulation profiles for LR and Capture One. The profile I've used here is called Polaroid 690 v2.

thanks, I downloaded the demo pack and like them. Did you get the Lite Pack or Pro Pack (Pro being much more cost)?

I've been playing with Ted Forbes Fuji and Kodak presets, interesting, I like.

I have the Pro pack.

In this thread you can see many more examples from the RNI profiles, and other film simulation profiles and presets:

I have a huge growing list of presets in Adobe Camera Raw. I need to delete the ones I'm not using, but also I'm wondering if there's a way to group certain of them together which would help me organize them.

I assume that the RNI pro pack contains hundreds of presets. I'm wondering how you decide which one to use on each image you're working on? Do you scroll through all of them, or have you gotten so used to them that there are certain "go to" presets that you use more often than many of the others? And in that case it would be great if you could create a RNI Favorites folder to group those favorite presets.

The RNI profiles, when you buy the full pack, are grouped like this, so they are pretty easy to navigate. You can mark a profile as a favorite, and then it will also appear in the Favorites group. Now I usually just pick a profile from my favorites.

so that's in lightroom, right? ACR looks like that but I don't recall seeing a favorites folder. I'll have to look for that. Thanks!

Yes, it's in LR. I don't know if you can do this in ACR, I only use LR Classic for all my editing.

Here are the presets that are installed in my ACR. I can expand each group and then there are multiple presets in that group.

Question on the first one - RN! 5 Toolkit. Are those all effects that lay on top of the image after I've applied a preset (such as one of the Kodachrome presets) to it?

Also, I thought I read somewhere that choosing grain should be based on the particular camera I'm using (in my case M10). Is that right, and if so I'd be grateful if you could direct me to those instructions.

Oh, and I did figure out how to create a Favorites folder, thanks for that advice!

Because the profiles cannot contain grain, each profile has a corresponding preset for adding a suggested amount of grain. I don't know anything about the need for different settings depending on camera model, sorry. But that's what the toolkit is for: It lets you customize the images to your taste, if you for example want a different amount of grain. These are ordinary presets that will move your editing sliders.

I may add that I think it's a bit confusing that there is both groups of presets for grainy profiles, and without grain. A preset without grain only selects the corresponding profile, nothing else. I think this is superflous because this is exactly the same as choosing the profile directly in the profile browser on the right side, which is far more convenient because of the large previews. If you want, you can click on the + on top of the Presets panel and select Manage presets, and hide all RNI presets without grain and just use the Profile browser instead (this is what I've done myself).
