tappan Posted March 20, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted March 20, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have all the bokeh that I want from my 35mm 1.4 FLE (11663-not the new one). I wanted to go back to why I chose Leica in the first place. That is, discreet, small, clarity-filled, hyperfocal. I have an Elmarit 24mm and wanted a 28mm. I settled on the newest (2016, I believe) Elmarit. Wow am I happy. Very sharp, not bad bokeh, amazing ease of use. I use it on an M10-P, M9-P, and an M10-M Anybody else loving this little lens. I have put away the lens hood and put on the accessory filter thread cover. Mark
Advertisement Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Hi tappan, Take a look here Just bought the latest Elmarit M 28mm. Very GOOD!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JoshuaR Posted March 20, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) I foolishly sold mine a while back and eventually rebought it. What you say about getting back to the appeal of the M system is exactly my experience. I own a lot of lenses, but my most-used pair is the 28 Elmarit and 50 Summarit. I feel like I can do almost anything I want with those two lenses, especially on modern digital Ms with their low-light capabilities. Danner Posted March 20, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted March 20, 2024 Yes, it's an amazing lens. Â I actually have the penultimate V1 ASPH, which I believe it is the same optically. Â Anyway, it delivers blistering sharpness and contrast. Â Nice get.
patrickcolpron Posted March 21, 2024 Share #4  Posted March 21, 2024 Congratulations, it is a great lens. I much prefer it over the 28 Summicron. Great form factor, makes an M camera compact, and great rendering. I prefer using it without the lens hood, its more pleasurable to use.
28framelines Posted March 21, 2024 Share #5  Posted March 21, 2024 Congrats! I had the lens for a couple years and absolutely loved the rendering. To be perfectly honest, I actually think the bokeh is perfect. I switched recently to the Color Skopar 28 because I found it does everything I liked about the Elmarit in an even smaller, Black Paint package, for cheaper. So far, I haven’t really noticed the one big (supposed) difference between the two lenses: the vignetting is more pronounced on the Color Skopar. But on film, I haven’t really seen a difference. 1
AndreasG Posted March 21, 2024 Share #6 Â Posted March 21, 2024 Good decision! I own the V1 version for 5 years now, it is my favorite lens for travelling, because it is so compact.
