Hey,

I tested the camera on the weekend at the Leica store in Hamburg (Thanxs to the awesome team that helped me with that)

For the first test I did some AF testing in very challenging situations: After Sunset with busy streets and 1/4 of a second

This was very rewarding. I got much more keepers and it felt much easier than with my Sl2-S

Here some images :.

shot with Summicron 50 mm.

The second Session was with Jens Eilers Manager Special Photographic Projects at the Leica Store.

He is in charge of some very exciting photography projects in and around the shop .

If you select Hamburg in the link you get to the events of the shop:

I used a Profoto Strobe with their trigger and a umbrella

And to illustrate bad conditions I used the available light in the shop for two shots without strobe:

these where all shot with the Summilux 50 mm

And I can say that the AF worked very good and I don't have any issues with the performance.

And the last test that interested me was the TTL with Godox products.

I used the AD 200 pro with the Xpro II L trigger and an umbrella.

The model was Karna:

And I can report: the TTL works with the SL3-S. It reacts to over and under exposing the strobe and I found it very relaxing to work with.

Although I would use this in manual mode most of the time, because I alter the strobe always a bit and I find it not very difficult to get good images with the Godox strobes.

So this was on the top of my list and I forgot so many other things that next time I will carry a checklist for what I need to test.

But the speed of the Summilux felt good. And maybe there will be some changes in future to the lenses who knows > new even faster motors >

But that the camera nails the focus now very accurate is very rewarding. Takes away some weight of the lens because you get the shots faster.

@Pelu2010 is the SL lux, significant faster on the SL3 or a bit? I thought the lens was slow itself, and not due to the camera? Thanks.

I did not have any problems with the lux and a portrait shooting. I will do some more testing with moving models. Then I can tell you more about the lens. But I did not find it slow. And it was sticky. And I think that all lenses will benefit from the new sl3-s.
