A quick look round the UK reputable marketplace would seem ti suggest that a ballpark figure is circa £1,800 to £2,200

since you got it, post some pics, what kind of shape is it in? 2000 is super low.

Super low? There is Q on local Chicago Craigslist, in perfect condition, with accessories, listed for $2,300. So, most likely seller would consider $2K, maybe slightly lower.

how does one check the photo count on Leica Q?

This might work, but only if the user never reset the image numbering:  check the number assigned to the most recent image.  Ignore the leading numbers.  What remains is likely to be the shutter count.  On my 7 year old Q that number is L1022605.  I think my shutter count is 22605.
