Anamorphic on rangefinder is quite challenging, you'll need EVF for focusing properly.

A first path is to use a DIY system: a taking lens (focal length would depend on the sensor size and the anamorphic adapter), an anamorphic adapter and usually a focuser. And it's quite difficult to go anamorphic on wide angles.

Another path is to use the more modern anamorphic lenses available on the market from Sirui or other manufacturers. simple to use but often referred as having less "character".

A compact solution is to use for example the 60mm elmarit R with an iscorama 36 (focuser is part of the icorama), though it gives only a 1,4x stretch which combiner with a 16:9 frame can get you close to Xsan format

For more stretch, you'll probably need longer focal length and heavier rig.

@GLOBETROTTER  I would appreciate any information you cared to share on what you used to make your anamorphic shots as I am considering giving it go myself as an extension of my favourite aspect ratio the XPan.

Hi

I use the Blazar 1x5 anamorphic adapter and still waiting for the new blazar remus lenses to be available.
