Dr. G Posted February 28, 2024 Share #1  Posted February 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there a reason why you wouldn't want DOF preview on all the time, or at least have the option to keep it on? I do a fair amount of close up photography where the difference between apertures can have a marked impact on images. It would be great to not have to reengage it after every shot. FWIW, I'm still on one of the older firmwares since I didn't want to lose the ability use the joystick press for magnification. I don't know if this has been updated.

Photoworks Posted February 28, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted February 28, 2024 Use an M lens or Cinema glass and you have it! It is a really specific request that is not practical for everyone's use, since less light goes true the camera you will have to push the sensor to display the correct exposure which becomes grainy and introduces lag. 01af Posted February 28, 2024 Share #3 Â Posted February 28, 2024 Augmenting a dim image electronically from a small aperture on the camera's screen reduces display quality and increases power consumption.
dpitt Posted February 28, 2024 Share #4 Â Posted February 28, 2024 Any manual lens with mechanical aperture will do. There are some excellent Macro R lenses, that can be used with a simple adapter. Of course there is also the Macro 90mm M. Look here if you want to see some in action on the SL: Â
