That is one of the benefits of the Leica SL lenses over the Sigma's of the same focal lengths.

Both Sigma 100-400 and 14-24 are weather sealed, so no extra weather sealing from Leica.

This is what the manual says for this lens from Sigma:

This lens is not waterproof. When using the lens in the rain or near water,

prevent it from getting wet. It is  ften impractical to repair the internal

mechanism, lens elements and electric components damaged by water.

It also has this on its website about the mount only.

I have rinsed off my SL system with Leica lenses using light hose water when they get sandy from the beach and have used these in the freezing rain and snow, covered with ice and snow and not had any issues.  The Leica lenses have rubber seals at all the joints not just the mount.
