HI everyone. Does anyone have experience with buying ICF glass coated low pass filter for Leica M9 camera on AliExpress?

Is it a feasible solution? Thanks for the replies.

I would only do this if the sensor is really unusable for you. There is a degree of corrosion that is not visible when using lenses wide open. Once you start the 'operation' there is no way back. If it fails you end up with a dead sensor that is beyond repair.

Even the professionals have accidents occasionally. I saw a few dead M9s on ebay. Of course they pay back the fee for the repair but bottom line is that your M9 is only good for parts after that.

i have / had the same problem with the corroded sensor, and i thought about to sell it for less or to repair. At that time i was scanning my slides and negatives with a professional scanner that is producing raw files. For this action i bought Silverfast HDR 9. This Software reduces and eliminates scratches and dust. I thought about trying out this software with my corroded files from the M9 --- it is MIND BLOWING!!! There´s nothing left from dots or anything else thats on the original. The Price of the software is about 250,-€. The homepage of Silverfast: https://www.silverfast.com/   ( i don´t get any money!!!!! ) You can Download a trial, but take the studio edition ( the expensive one ), install it and you will use your m9 without any doubt and any fear of  bad results. It´s amazing. At the end it´s just one more step in our workflow but even better than to invest in a suspicious service. In the link the guy is talking about scanning - replace the scanner with the m9 - and you know what he is talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umXH39GlUkM.  In our case it is much more easier because our corroded spots are always at the same place, so once you have your settings you don´t have to change anything. I guess this is the easiest way to get along with Leica M9´s problem - for me.

AFAIK the original M9 cover glass includes IR and UV filters, but there is no anti-aliasing filter. So any replacement would need to match this setup. Companies doing these replacements seem to offer at least some information on the glass they use.
