I just saw that Urth makes an autofocus electronic adapter from ef/ef-s to L mount adapter. In their images they show it mounted to a Leica cl. No other electronic ef adapter works on the cl nor the tL2 so i send them a questions regarding compatibility and this was there answer:

"Q: You show pictures of the adapter and the Canon lenses on a Leica cl but the cl and tl2 doesnt support any other brands of electronic adapters will this work with the Leica tl2 and the cl?

Urth EU's Answer:

Hello there! Thanks for your interest in our products. This adapter can pair any Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Leica L-Mount cameras. We have not received any claims regarding compatibility issues. Best regards, Urth Suppor"

That is very interesting and maybe promising? Is anyone willing to try it out?

I no longer have any EF lenses but when I did I used the Commlite EF-L Adaptor and the CL with no issues, autofocus worked fine.  There are others here on the forum with similar success.  Why don't you order and test for yourself, given Urth's response to your question if you find it doesn't work, then return it.

I just bought a Viltrox EF-L adapter and tested it on two lenses - the 50mm F1.8 II and a 70-200 f4L (non-stabilised). It didn't work at all for the 70-200, and whilst it could control the aperture on the 50mm, the autofocus cycled back and forth between extremes and sounded as if it was going to bash the lens to pieces.

The URTH clearly works much better - haven't tested it on the 50mm as I actually only really want the adapter for telephoto lenses. However, it only works on single-focus mode and not on continuous focus. Secondly, it doesn't activate focus-assist if you try to focus manually. I'm not convinced it is controlling the aperture accurately but the depth of field is clearly greater at f32 than f4.

So... Mixed feelings. I will talk to them and see if there are any firmware updates in the works. I suspect I will send it back to them, as I don't like things that only half-work. It isn't that you buy a CL for sports photography, but you're going to miss shots if you forget which mode you're in, or need to tweak the focus manually.

It's a shame... The real advantage of APSC lenses should be for telephoto use. The 55-135 is pleasingly smaller and lighter than my 70-200, but I can't quite bring myself to get the Sigma 500mm f5.6, never having used anything longer than 400mm on full-frame.
