Patrick NL Posted February 14, 2024 Share #1 Posted February 14, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) For who is not yet convinced. This is an original image (downsized, but it shows how cropped the image is) plus a processed crop 100%. I lifted up the lighting, pulled the windows straight and still it is so good. I did not sharpen anything besides the standard Lightroom settings. This sensor and lens are amazing! Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Hi Patrick NL, Take a look here Leica Q3 cropping power. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JNK100 Posted February 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2024 I agree. It's a great semi-tailored use of a great lens and sensor. Crops at an equivalent 50mm are more than usable, and at 19mp have a slightly higher resolution than the excellent M9.
David Wien Posted February 15, 2024 Share #3 Posted February 15, 2024 The intention of this shot (cropped from original), was a snap to record the time on the clock. So I just pointed it in the rough direction, not taking care about the verticals. Welcome, dear visitor! I subsequently played around with it in PhotoLab6, reducing the exposure by 2.23EV and straightening it up. Further adjustments brought out the darker tones, with this result: apart from the lack of focus on the tower, I was amazed at the result (1:1 crop, size only 1532 x 1028). MikeD70 Posted February 15, 2024 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2024 Couldn't agree more! I really abuse my files when it comes to cropping. A holdover from shooting motorsports for so many years. I've found the Q3 files extremely flexible, (with some help in post) when pulling out select areas of an image.
