Marc B-C Posted February 12, 2024 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have not used jpeg for so long I cannot remember - at least 30 years. I do, however, need to photograph several black hifi units (CD player, amps etc) and two sets of speakers. I am going to use jpeg (I want better than my iPhone but also want to play with jpeg on the Q2 as I have never used such on this camera). I also do not want to spend too much time on pp. The items will all be posted to on line sites for sale. I have moderate lighting (single flash and small Manfrotto Lumimuse 6) but would prefer natural light. Any tips / tricks as to using jpeg? I do not usually shoot product but want to make the photos look better than the average punter ones. Edited February 12, 2024 by Marc B-C

Marc B-C Posted February 12, 2024 Author Share #2 Posted February 12, 2024 (edited) For clarity, I should say I have not shot in jpeg for 30+ years. Obviously I have converted DNG to jpeg, however, in this instance I wish to shoot in jpeg Edited February 12, 2024 by Marc B-C

Black equipment can be tricky to expose right. RAW will give you more tweaking possibilities. Alternatively, just use DNG + JPG then try to use the JPGs with the the DNG as backup. Make sure you get white balance set right in camera for the JPGs. Edited February 12, 2024 by dpitt
