Dr. G Posted January 31, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if, when using AFc on the Q3 for relatively static subjects, the shutter will only release when the object is in critical focus at the focus point? I only ask because I've always found that the AFc of the Q cameras feel slightly jumpy and not totally smooth as it did when I had my Sony system. I'm wondering which takes precedent, focus or shutter release. When shooting up close at 1.7 I tend not to use AFs, assuming that if I'm moving a little AFc would be a better choice. Advertisement Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Hi Dr. G, Take a look here Q3 AFc question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Patrick NL Posted February 2, 2024 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2024 I can check, but it is, as far as I know, standard on cameras to use shutter prio with AF-C and focus prio on AF-S. It is that way on my Nikons and Fujifilms at least.
jaapv Posted February 3, 2024 Share #3 Posted February 3, 2024 Interesting- but I fail to see the rationale behind this.
