LCD screen protector needed or not?

I got 2 screen protectors for my M11-P for $20, seems like very cheap insurance. I mean, why not?

I put on a screen protector only because I noticed that my camera was constantly knocking against the snap buttons on some of my shirts. I don't know if it really would damage the glass, but repetitive tapping on glass with hard materials seemed... not great.

I would say yes, I have scratched so many LCD's that I feel its warranted... Never scratched a lens so tend not to use filters.

Definitely not scratch proof. Just noticed this tiny scratch on the sapphire lcd of my M11P. Only visible if looking for it at an angle though.

I put a lcd protector on touch screens in general only because I hate the feeling on the screen once the coatings wear off.
