I think the 35 APO lens hood is a wonderful design, extremely strong and effective. The metal lens cap is nice too but tends to fall off pretty easily, snap-on would work better at staying on but certainly not as aesthetically pleasing (imho).

🙂Scratched and dented like this Lux?

Nice one.. actually that hood fits :). Meanwhile, I found the overgaard one as well, but too expensive for a hood.

The Contax hoods made for the G series cameras offer good protection, they're 46mm and fit many Leica lenses.  The 35 apo would require a step up ring (for the hood to fit) that could be considered a hood for protection with minimalist size.  GG-1 would fit nicely, they come in chrome and black, there's also caps for the hood.  The originals from Contax are readily available on the used market and reasonably priced compared to Leica.   Popflash currently has one with a filter:

If protection is a more-significant goal than sun-shading, Heliopan metal step-up rings are made in Germany, and, are made of brass, so, may well show nicely individual brassing, as the black finish becomes worn and “dented.”

Heliopan also makes threaded hoods, but, if I recall correctly, they are made of aluminum.
