With good light iI note a crack or separation in the right side of the central patch, It doesnt affect operation but dont know if it can tear appart. Any comments about or it is a bad begginig and be better abort operation, Is it an expensive reparation by the way? Thanks for your comments. Carlos Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Hi carlosarg, Take a look here Leica M6 viewfinder patch cracked.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted December 9, 2023 Share #2  Posted December 9, 2023 This suggests a problem with the prism. The viewfinder appears to be hazy too. Yes, that could mean a complete rangefinder replacement. It is not easy to glue in a prism, certainly not DIY. Walk away. Plenty of M6 cameras for sale.
dsj Posted December 9, 2023 Share #3  Posted December 9, 2023 Had something like that once as well. Was just a hair or dust inside the rangefinder prism. If you move the frame line preselector around you might get it to move. In that case it is just a CLA job. In which case it is off course still a few hundred quid.
earleygallery Posted December 9, 2023 Share #4 Â Posted December 9, 2023 It's probably a hair but it could also be a mark on the prism. Is the viewfinder hazy or is that just flare on the image you've taken? Unless the price is very good I'd do as Jaap says and keep looking.
