While stopped waiting for a traffic light to change this morning, I heard Billie Holiday sing 'That long, lonesome road'..........and remembered this image - U.S. Hwy #50, Nevada.

I’ve driven us-50 many times from central Kansas to western Kansas and a few times through Colorado to Gunnison.  I’ve seen miles of open land and big skies.  Nice capture.

Throughout my adult life I've been enthralled and fascinated by the work of Ansel Adams, to the point that when I found myself in Wyoming in the area of the Grand Tetons last year, I recalled one of the great photographer's famous images, titled 'Tetons, fence and thistle', and decided, that as long as I was there I would attempt to take a similar image. Not to presume to compete, but rather, because I must confess that I simply fail to comprehend why he would shoot this in landscape format & cut the highest peaks off this magnificent, photogenic chain of mountains - rather, my image was intended to illustrate how I saw this scene from a similar location ( things have changes significantly at the location from which he took his image ).

....and the A. Adams image, taken with film view camera.

IMO, Adams was featuring the post and rail fence and probably cut the top off the mountains so they would not distract from the subject of his image. I envy you the opportunity to recreate that image.
