Shutter count for Leica SL2S

Someone could explain how is possible to know the shutter count for Leica SL2S?

Everytime I update the firmware the number restart from 001.

Not... Given that it is virtually impossible to wear out a shutter this is a rather uninteresting number.

Ok it could be useless but why Leica want to hide this data?

I don’t think it is hiding. It is in the menu with other data that are only of interest to the technical service. That section is locked because it also contains items that can brick the camera when tampered with.

BTW if you insert the card which contains the last image you took, before using the camera after an update, the image count will not reset.

Except that with the last firmware update (5.somthing I think) it didn't. And I am having a beast of a job trying to reset it!

Try this: Format a SD card. Take one image. In the computer alter the image number. Reinsert and take another image.

Tried it. Several times. And it still won't play ball. I think I have floundered around with it too much and am now terminally confused! Maybe time for a full camera reset and start again.

That number has nothing to do with shutter count. That number is images captured.
