I don’t suppose anyone still has a copy on their hard drive that they could send to me do they? Leica no longer bother to host older firmware. 

Hopefully someone still has this file kicking around. 

If we had known that they were going to drop older camera support then we could have created our own repository of all the firmwares going, but it’s too late now.

You might email Josh Lehrer at Leica Store Miami.  David Farkas and Josh have a Leica firmware repository and might either have or can point you to someone who still has a DMR and firmware.

Tirpitz666,  First, welcome to the forum.  Second, you might send Andy Barton the moderator above a PM (message) via clicking on his icon in his post above.  He should answer you one way or another if he has a copy of the DMR firmware.  The other idea is to look in Red Dot Forum in their firmware repository.  Leica Store Miami keeps a firmware repository.  The DMR might be included.  r/ Mark

HI,

I am not sure if that matters but the file at the provided link is probably in German ('Digital-Modul-R Firmware Update v1_3_de.zip'). I have, presumably, English version 'Digital-Modul-R Firmware Update v1_3_en.zip', Let me know if anybody needs it. The sizes of the files and CRC checksums included in both of  .zip files are same (67F351D0) ... just a security sanity check.

????  You set the language on the camera. The file is probably in Unix or something.

The zip package probably comes with instructions, and might therefore be in German.

If there is a variation in  Leica cameras sold in different world regions the firmware itself could be slightly different. Although, as I mentioned, the CRC checksums are same. The timestamp on my file, that I found in one of my backups, is 2013.16.13. At the time I downloaded it from Leica site, as I remember.

Also, in Linux world zip archives very seldomly used, mostly tar archive files compressed with gzip, bzip2 or xz.

Anyway, I sent Andy the file and pdf file with howto instructions.

Thank you all for the contributions and Andy for having sent me his FW copy in zero time. As soon as I get the DMR (really hope that everything works ) will update it, glad to see that there is a nice and collaborative community here :)

Just for the sake of update, the DMR came and the FW upgrade went smooth, just tested a couple of days and absolutely in love with the output at base ISO, file acutance reminds me of Foveon X3, with the added bonus of absolutely brilliant colors and Leica glass to put in front of it 😀
