There is another thread dedicated to 75mm, which is still active, I'd like to keep this for the 2.4 only. Thanks

Given the 2.5 version and the 2.4 version are both actually 2.4 - the same lens (except a mechanical difference in MFD of 1m vs 0.7m), wouldn't it make sense to open this thread up to include the 2.5 version (but retain your exclusion of all other 75mm lenses)? We won't see anything here with a different optical fingerprint, but those of us who are considering this lens, and/or who admire the work posted here by you and others, might gain something by seeing the work of other members here? (FWIW - I'm in the 'considering this lens' camp).

Meantime, thanks for posting your beautiful pictures - you have made very good use of the lens.

Thank you. Ok, I give up, I declare herewith this thread open to the 2.5 version of this lens, please going forward always mention the lens model.

Thanks

Cheers.

After considering a 75mm for a while now, I was able to pick up a f2.4 summarit for $785usd. Initially, I thought I wanted the extra light of the ultron or nokton, but this deal was too attractive to pass up and I find myself preferring Leica lenses more and more - this thread also helped me lean into this lens.

Having not used a 75mm before this week, I can't get over how much I love this focal length! I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks with this as my main fl. I really enjoy the sharpness, ease of use, and lens size, and it is surprisingly easy to nail focus on the rangefinder; it's just so enjoyable to use on my m10 and I'll use it on my m6 on a trip in a few weeks.

That said, I have been too busy to get out and shoot, so here's an around-the-house shot of Gina, shot on an m10.

Congratulations on a good deal but, more importantly, on getting a cracking lens. All of the (2.4/2.5) Summarits are underrated and, in Leica Land, a true bargain these days. The 75 is a great choice - I’ve enjoyed using mine since 2017 and I wouldn’t swap it. Enjoy!
