Terin Posted November 4, 2023 Share #4 Â Posted November 4, 2023 Your portraits are always well done, impeccably managed in terms of light, composition and content. It's clear that you are a superlative portraitist. But I ask you, if it is possible to know, which optics do you prefer for your work? Compliments for photos ! Terin, what can I say but thank you for your comments, I value them enormously. For several years I used an Olympus EM-5 Mk1 combined with a Panasonic/Leica 12-35mm f/2.8 lens (that is 24-70mm in full-frame terms) and I still love that combination for so many reasons.  Last November, I strayed into Leica territory and bought a second-hand CL and a 35mm f1.4 Summilux, also second-hand.  I like that too and this photo was taken with the CL. Ciao Davide For a couple of years I used an Oly OM-1 Mark II, and I really liked this system. But then I went back to using the full format with Sony, but I regret the OM-1 a bit

But then I went back to using the full format with Sony, but I regret the OM-1 a bit I like the simplicity of the two cameras I mentioned. Olympus lost me when they kept adding more and more buttons, levers and knobs so I never upgraded. A camera for me needs to be atheistically attractive and the less I have to think about settings the better, I can often spend a whole day without changing one. By the way, several years ago I spent a weekend in the company of Giles Duley a wonderful photographer and an incredible human being. Â He mentioned that 5:4 was his favourite aspect ratio for portraits, the image in this post has been cropped to that format. David
