FW 2.0.1 Now User Profiles do not seem to get saved

What am I doing wrong here with profiles?

The only profile that seems to work now on my M11 is the default one. Even when I make another profile "active" (user 1) and change the settings and then save those setting to that active profile they do not take. I just get the head and shoulders image again!! The manual says this happens when the active profile has even one small change to shooting with that profile. For example, when I change AWB to Daylight.

I did not have this problem in the past with earlier FW on my M11.

I haven't noticed any change in behaviour with this update and from what I understand you wrote this is normal behaviour.

If I am in "user profile 1" and I change one of the settings assigned to that profile (e.g. I change drive mode from single to continuous) - all the settings from the user profile remain intact - with the exception of drive mode which I have just changed. I am therefore no longer within the boundaries of that profile so it no longer shows as being selected. But the camera is still set up according to that profile, not the default one. If I now save UP with the new drive mode setting (assuming I want to) it will then continue to show as UP1.

Hope I have understood your question correctly and thast helps :)

Yes, understand. See today's try.

Just did a camera reset. Then went into customize user1 with all my settings. Saved it. That far went OK. Then I realized I forgot some items I wanted saved to that User 1 profile. So I made User1 active and went about changing a few settings. Of course the camera reverts to the head & shoulders profile as soon as just one item in a profile is changed. So after all changes I went back into User Profiles and made User 1 Active and then under manage profiles I saved User 1 settings.

It did not take a resave of this User1 profile. Frustrating!!

Let me follow your operational steps:
Step 1. customize user1
Step 2. User1 active and went about changing a few settings
Step 3. went back into User Profiles and "made User 1 Active"
Step 4. saved User 1 settings

Would you try those steps again, but this time remove Step 3 of "made User 1 Active", which means the camera will load of Step 1 of user1 profile, in other words says It rollback to the Step 1 and discarding all changes made in Step 2.

I think that by removing Step 3, 'made User 1 Active,' and then directly go to Step 4, 'under manage profiles to save User 1 settings,' you will solve the problem.

I completely agree with this recommendation, as step 3 was overriding any changes you were trying to make by going back to the settings assigned to User 1.

In have no issues with profiles before or after updating the FW.  I have in the past had issues with user profiles after updating my SL, but the new Foto update process is working very well at retaining the proper User Profile settings after update has been complete.  I still am in the habit of exporting the profiles to SD card before updating FW, but I have never had to use the import feature to reload them after using Foto FW Update feature.

Thanks. Tried your recommended approach and it holds settings even after power off and back on. I see why I did that mistake since when I go to User Profiles it first takes me to the active area and one must go into the manage profiles section instead. Great advice.
