Swaddywell Nature Reserve, near Peterborough, Cambs., UK,  15 October 2023, mid to late afternoon: Common Lizards Sun-basking on decaying logs. A Lastolite reflector was used to illuminate parts of the log which were in shadow; reflector also creates a highlight in a lizard's eye.The lizards hibernate together in groups in suitable habitats, e.g., in decaying logs.
