A Wayne Posted October 15, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted October 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Online I bought a Pradovit RT-s Projector and it does not work as designed and jams slides. Is there someone in UK who can repair it? The slide channels are not parallel. I also have a Kodak Ektapro with the same problem. Both projectors seem to dislike slides with cardboard mounts and prefer plastic mounts.

jaapv Posted October 15, 2023 Share #2  Posted October 15, 2023 Cardboard mounts have always been a problem in my experience. I always replaced them.
pgk Posted October 15, 2023 Share #3 Â Posted October 15, 2023 (edited) You could try Newto Ellis in Liverpool (https://www.newtonellis.com) who still list slide projectors as items that they repair. I'm tend to favour jaapv's suggestion though - try remounting in plastic mounts which may solve the problem. I had a Pradovit RT many years ago - great, solid and reliable projector when I had it. jaapv Posted October 15, 2023 Share #4  Posted October 15, 2023 I did prefer the plastic and glass ones, even if dust and Newton rings could be problematic  They kept the slide nice and flat.
FDS Posted October 15, 2023 Share #5 Â Posted October 15, 2023 I had an RT-s for about twenty years. Â Fabulous machine. A 'stupid' question: Â are you using 80-slide trays? Â (The 140-trays are useless, in my experience, in terms of jamming.)Â Â
A Wayne Posted October 15, 2023 Author Share #6  Posted October 15, 2023 Yes, I have one 80 tray (right word?) thanks for your reply
Zeitblom Posted October 19, 2023 Share #7 Â Posted October 19, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Drop shaft projectors, such as those were built by Kodak, Leica and Simda, have always been very suitable for all types of slide frames, including cardboard slides. But for cardboard slides, the projector must be aligned exactly on a flat surface and must not be tilted at an angle to adapt to the screen.
