Hi everyone, just got my Q3 last week, and while I'm overall very happy with the camera, the UI feels super unresponsive like using a 10+ year old laptop. When I click the play button, it takes anywhere between 2-6 seconds for the photo to show up, and then another 4-5 seconds before I'm able to zoom in, going left an right to see other photos is anywhere between instant to 3-4 seconds. Coming from a fuji where the UI is always snappy and never had any delays, it's a bit of a weird experience, I think the inconsistency in the lag is the worst of all, because I have no idea if my action went through or not.

I'm running firmware 1.3.0, does anyone else have this experience? Is there anything I can do to make it more useable?

I would go to my dealer and show him your issue. He'll then might give you another SD-card.

You certainly researched a bit here in the forum and you must have realised that you come up with something new. This would be no problem if you would not have choosen your title to the thread that is a bit loud and negative.

That's a good point, I hadn't considered that it could be an SD card issue, I am running a 277mb/s read 150mb/s write sony tough V60

Will try to format it and give it another try, if it doesn't work, what SD card would you guys recommend?

I’m actually using a OLD Lexar SD card 150mb/s read and write. I was going to get a new one but I have zero issues. I’ve heard that the Sony cards don’t play well with Leica. If someone has a Sony card have no issues let us know.

Another hysterical title, getting boring now.

And from now on we have the next great fake news that will stay here and in the World Wide Web forever: "Super laggy UI on Q3". Many others might quote just this wrong statement. Maybe an admin can change that title.

I think that formatting an SD card in camera before using it should be common sense nowadays rather than posting emotional titles.

But anyway: Welcome to the forum 🥲

To be fair, this is the first camera I had where SD card didn’t work straight out the box. And while what I shared does sound negative, it is exactly what I experienced for the first week of ownership. Hopefully this post being on the World Wide Web will help any other newbies who run into the same issue

Welcome to the forum.

Leica does have a history of being extra finicky with cards.  And as you say other cameras don't have this issue, although I'm sure some forum member will give us their anecdotal difficulty.

A great tool to format SD cards when issues arise with Leica cameras is SD formatter.  It's been a savior to the Leica community, there's many threads found using search.

Enjoy your new camera.

No issues so far with my Sony SDHC 64GB Tough R300 W299 UHS-II CL10 U3 V90 (SF64TG) … 😇
