I know this must be painful to discover in a new camera/expensive purchase. Have you taken a flat field image to see if the problem is more widespread than a single dust mote?

Dust is a pretty common issue of course in cameras with removable lenses. In this case it might be best to take a deep breath and repair the imperfection(s) during post processing when it is noticed. It's a very quick repair with the clone tool in Photoshop.

Best of luck on you upcoming journey!

Fortunately, i've checked and the problem is related only to that single point of dust. I know, it will be easy to remove it in photoshop/lightroom, since is that only dot, i can easily cut and paste on every picture the dust removal tool in lightroom.

I'm disappointed because it's something that i cannot solve by myself and the idea to have my camera away for 2 months...makes me go nuts...

I love my q3, i love everything of this camera...I'll wait until i could, before send it to leica.

Well, it won’t be a sensor cleaning. They have to engrave a hot shoe, take off the top to replace it and they will give the whole camera a CLA

Was this post meant for the broken hotshoe thread? Or does cleaning the sensor require a new serial number?

The Q3 hotshoe doesn't have a serial number engraved so I'm not sure what the issue is (unless they forgot to engrave mine!).

Is anyone taping over the microphone openings to be on the safe side relative to dust entering the body? Been thinking of doing it as video sound isn’t important to me. Certainly was old school approach to original Q…

Yes!  I did that on my original Q, as a precaution for dust/moisture.  Seemed to work.
