There are plenty of reasons why the M11 is superior (and let's see what tweaks the M11P adds). But for me personally the M is a particular kind of experience, and the well-damped sounding mechanical shutter of the M10R (and M10P) is a positive part of the experience. This text quoted above is what I wrote in response to a comment about the M11 shutter-cycle. Also prefer the viso flex, shoot slot open. So, you like the shutter on the M11-P, and you like its Visoflex? The new Visoflex 2 that came out with and for the M11 does seem an improvement on the Visoflex typ 20 that I have on my M10-R BP, and M10 Monochrom. But, when I want to spend time with an EVF (vintage lenses mostly, and longer lenses sometimes), then I use the SL2 and an adaptor. We are close enough now to an M12 (crystal ball suggests early 2026 maybe?) that I will wait and see what that looks like, and probably wait for the M12-P before really deciding. The nice thing with the M system is that - for many users - the "upgrades" are nice-to-haves that we can take or not. An M is an M. It's more about the shooting experience. I use my film Ms just as much as my digital ones.
