Dear all, just goth a beautiful SL. I have a dummy adapter (need to get yet a Novoflex) and the lens stays at 1.4. I cannot see focus peaking. I did follow the manual, turned on focus peaking in the assist menu and the cycle with bottom right button through live view. High low, tried both, see nothing.
any ideas? Image is the SL with Milvus 1.4.

Forget focus peaking, magnification focus aid is the only thing that is accurate enough for focusing with F1.4.

BTW: try stopping down the lens to F2.0 or F2.8. Contrast will be higher and maybe focus peaking will start working then. Still not very helpful for critical focus IMO.

D A V D,

I have an SL camera with 'classic' Zeiss ZE lenses and a Novoflex adapter. Focus peaking works in scenes with high contrast. To test if your setup works, go outside in bright sunlight. Focus peaking always works for me in bright sunlight.

However, I agree with dpitt that focus magnification is a more reliable way to evaluate focus than focus peaking. Please let us know how your setup works out.

It is normally there at 1.4 but hard to see. If it is more prominent like the Sony implementation it is too inaccurate to be useful.
