So I do weddings for a living.
I have 2 sl2s, 1 q3 and one m11(personal use)

Now since the latest update one of my sl2s doesn't function properly anymore. I use back button focus and it will work for 3 or 4 times and than I can't use it anymore and all the buttons (menus, fn,.. ar unusable) and to top that my q3 freezes constantly and I don't mean 1 time per day, but really, 20-30 times a day 😵‍💫😱

Anyone experiencing the same issue(s)? And is there a possibility to install an older firmware ?

No problems here. What lens(es) are you using? Just ask because BBF only works e.g. with Sigma lenses when they are set to manual on the lens.

I wonder what went wrong. We have very few update problems on the forum and two cameras of two different types at the same time?  The odds against it are astronomic.

I have a big assignment tomorrow night with the sl2s.  I use the back button focus a lot.  If the update did not go well I will find out quickly. 

Can you expand more on the exact problems you are having?

Can you go back to factory settings with no updates?

my assignment went well.  I had a fast and furious reception event and absolutely put the sl2s through it's paces with the back button focus and eyes autofocus.  no issues.

as a side question, which AF mode did you use? AFs, AFc, iAF?

I usually use iAF, and it usually stays on AFs. 

I fins the back button focus works well in tricky situations ... spot focus versus face recognition.  I keep a program button to go between those two because I am capturing food and detail along with humans.
