Jimmyp82 Posted September 17, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 17, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got three film back from the developers, and they are still moist inside the sleeves! There's what seems to be permanent stains on the negatives. Can these be saved? Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted September 17, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2023 Complain with the laboratory and ask their advice, although, they deliver this I have no high hopes. First try washing them in demineralized water and wipe and hang to dry, just like fresh negatives. If that fails you can take the risk of using Isopropyl Alcohol. There are negative cleaners on the market.
pedaes Posted September 17, 2023 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2023 (edited) Dosn't look good. If you have an end with blank frames I would first try re-washing that section in water, as jaapv suggests, but with a couple of drops of washing up liquid (as a wetting agent ) and re-dry. Good luck and fingers crossed for you! Edited September 17, 2023 by pedaes
250swb Posted September 17, 2023 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2023 I can’t imagine how they got the film into the negative sleeves if they were so wet. I’m wondering if some residue on the negatives hasn’t reacted to humidity at some stage? Either way not good enough from the lab.

Jimmyp82 Posted September 20, 2023 Author Share #6 Posted September 20, 2023 rinsing well in some warm deionized water seems to have helped, not 100% but mostly sorted the issue! thanks for that
