David Cantor Posted September 15, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Let me introduce you to another of my favourite people - Mick Taylor. We'd known each other for about five years when I took this, here he is looking out of sorts but on his day could be extremely smart and dapper. He even modelled for one yuppie fashion house who used him to promote a neckerchief in the style of those worn by the porters at the old Spitalfields Fruit and Vegetable Market. He was one of a disappearing breed, a true East Ender and his story still fascinates me even though he passed away a few years ago. I often found him outside Beigel Bake on Brick Lane where he wasn't shy of asking for the price of a cup of coffee. Beigel Bake is itself an East End institution, open 24 hours a day and reputed to sell thousands of beigels every day. Welcome, dear visitor! David Cantor Posted September 18, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted September 18, 2023 Mick was a much-loved character by those who knew him. After his passing, this tribute was created just a few yards from Mick's regular pitch by a well-known Australian street artist, Jimmy C. Welcome, dear visitor!
