a.noctilux Posted September 12, 2023 Share #21 Posted September 12, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) In my view, I always separate price and use "value". This last one is so individual and changing with time/circonstance that it's uselessfor me. When I need one M (of my dream/my need), I just buy it at the moment pricing. I don't even bother with future value/price. That said, I don't remember how much I paid from new the M4-P about 1984 (or1983 ?), I'm certain having the receipt somewhere. Happy using the M4-P for many years without it needing CLA. Good news, I don't remember sending it for CLA, last time I used it, the M4-P worked like it should.
Advertisement Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Hi a.noctilux, Take a look here Leica M4-P "1913-1983" special edition - 70 years. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sandro Posted July 31, 2024 Share #22 Posted July 31, 2024 A well deserved thread for this beautiful M4-P and lenses with the engraving. I bought my M4-P 1913-1983 in its box seventeen years ago and love it. I also bought the Summilux 50mm in the original box from the same seller, and later on in Milan I bought the Summilux 35mm with 1913-1983 engraving in its original box. I believe this one was produced for the italian market in a series of 150 pieces. Later still I found the Summicron 50mm, without box or papers, sold by someone who had no idea about the engraving.
