Steve Ricoh Posted August 22, 2023 Author Share #21 Posted August 22, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ll consider it but won’t rush. Although I have approx 650 images on Flickr they’re also on hard drives, and tbh the majority are rather mediocre, so no great loss if I have start again. sswee38823 Posted August 27, 2023 Share #22 Posted August 27, 2023 Write to Ben MacAskill, President, COO @ SmugMug & Flickr and tell him your story. Be short and to the point and ask kindly for his help. His email is benmacaskill@flickr.com I had a similar problem at GoDaddy and wrote to th president. My problem was fixed in 20 minutes. Good Luck, Sean Sweeney

Good Luck, Sean Sweeney I had a reply from Flickr support, basically inviting me to prove who I am. Looking at my user name on Flickr, together with my (now defunct) Yahoo email address, I used an alias. My drivers licence, passport etc would not match. When I signed up back in 2012, or thereabouts, it was a habit to keep trivial things separate from important emails. Flickr support are there to help and protect. If you can’t prove who you are they wont comply with a request to change account details, for obvious reasons. PS I’ve asked the support team whether I can update my email address from within the iPad App. If it’s possible, it’s not obvious how it can be actioned. Steve Ricoh Posted September 1, 2023 Author Share #24 Posted September 1, 2023 For others in a similar boat there is a way to update your login identity. When I declined sending a ‘government document’ to prove my identity, Flickr support offered an alternative solution, that being a RAW image from my hard drive corresponding to a processed version on Flickr. I received confirmation yesterday that my email address has been changed, as requested, and normal service has been restored. 5* service. 3
250swb Posted September 1, 2023 Share #25 Posted September 1, 2023 Well done to Flickr and you for sticking at it, and a good common sense solution as well. Now you just need to link to Flickr in your signature!
