Woodlux Posted August 15, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, unfortunately my eye sight has deteriorated to the point that my M9 is getting difficult to focus. So I need to bite the bullet and sell my kit. I am not keen on eBay and though I may get less I would rather sell to a good dealer. I am in the UK does any one have any recommendations to which shops I should go to. Also if any one in the UK is interested in a face to face sale than that would be good. Jean-Michel Posted August 15, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2023 Since you need to sell, save yourself much grief and sell to a Leica dealer in your country. You will get less cash, of course, but the difference is worth it for peace of mind. And maybe trade for something with AF, such as a Q.
rogxwhit Posted August 15, 2023 Share #3 Posted August 15, 2023 I can recommend the following dealers (I've had honest & pleasant exchange with all of them): The Latent Image, Shrewsbury - https://www.tli-processing.com/store Commercial Cameras, Church Stretton - http://www.commercialcameras.co.uk/used.html Red Dot, London -https://www.reddotcameras.co.uk Ffordes at Beauly near Inverness (will sell on commission or buy outright) - https://www.ffordes.com

And tried one of the later generation digital Ms with higher VF magnification and better eye relief? I would experiment with everything before giving up on an M, and maybe even hang on to M lenses for use on another camera, including Leica. But as far as sale or trade, I concur with using trustworthy Leica dealers. Saves a lot of hassle, and builds relationships. In the US, commission rates vary among good dealers, so it’s worth checking around. Can’t speak for UK. Jeff

rsh Posted August 16, 2023 Share #7 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) If you are in no rush for the cash, you might try to sell your equipment on consignment thru a Leica dealer. The dealer will most likely take 20% of the sales price and it allows you some input on the sales price. Edited August 16, 2023 by rsh

There's a link at the top of the page. Those here are likely to have a fair idea of what your lenses value is and you won't have to settle for less owing to a dealer's cut. Pete.
