As far as I could see, the cases in the first link are all for cameras with lugs. The second link has some cases with attachments for straps though. The cases attach via the tripod mount, but frankly I never use that because they are so snug already,

As you can see on your second link, the cases have their own attachment points. Good to see alternative suppliers - there aren't many that offer that option. I am tempted to get this, but the only thing I don’t like is the tripod screw nor does it cover the sides where the strap rings will scratch the crap out of the paint. Also you have to be a bit careful as some (not all) Chinese cases have tanning which can cause marking on the camera, also on quite a few of these cases the stitching is cosmetic only and does not hold the case together, the panels are glued.

I have had zero issues that you mention, and like this case so much I now have two for my Ms, one for my Xpan and one for my F3P. You can take from that what you will, or go with the ‘I heard…’

You don’t need to use the tripod screw - I don’t. The case is very snug and does not move at all.  You can see the straps I use have the body paint protector tab.  I have seen from my other cases - Luigi, Art and Artisan, Zhou - that the loops that go over the lugs actually cause wear marks after time. Anyway, I’m not selling these, letting you know what I use and my experiences there of.  And from that I would never spend more than $50 to get a case that performs worse!

I too have a couple of Chinese cases which are fine but, sadly, that is not universal.
Ouroboros Posted August 23, 2023 Share #33  Posted August 23, 2023 I’ve never seen the point of half cases.  My new-to-me M4-P came with one. I tried it, hated it and since I will keep the camera, I’ve thrown the half case away. Welcome, dear visitor! Half Cases are a bit of a "Marmite" item, either you love them or you hate them (I am in the former camp but I would never try to influence others). The shame here is that you threw it away when quite a few would have been only too pleased to take it off your hands.

Just not for me.

Just not for me. Totally get it.  Nothing feels as good as a naked Leica in your hand... I just have a bit of OCD where if my camera is in perfect shape, I try to keep it that way.  One of my M7s is like new - it uses a case.  The other one was bought w nice patina - that one is used al fresco. madNbad Posted August 23, 2023 Share #40 Â Posted August 23, 2023 This week, I have two items arriving. First is a Leica 14405 grip which I'll attach to the M4-2, it has become my most used camera since returning from DAG. Â Secondly is an Artisan & Artist LMB-M3 half case for my M4. This one is coming from Popflash Photo. The last two from B&H smelled like they had been sitting in a damp warehouse, I'm hoping this one will be better.
