Davidjohndavid Posted August 7, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a first batch Leica black paint, serial number 1181801. I’d like to get it appraised and put it up for sale. Is there an appraisal site, or a place in the Los Angeles area anyone might suggest? I have an M2 from 1960 and a few early Leica lenses that I’m considering selling as well. Edited August 7, 2023 by Davidjohndavid Grammar

Cameraville Posted August 11, 2023 Share #8 Posted August 11, 2023 (edited) The average value of this version [at auction] is $20,250. At least seven cameras from this same production batch have sold in the last 4 years from $5,490 to $82,350. Camera Number 1181864 sold this year for $28,550. An estimated value for your camera will vary based on condition, authenticity, provenance, and other factors. It's best to get it into the hands of a qualified appraiser or auctioneer. Though hopefully the information above can give you a rough idea. And remember - in an auction anything is possible. You should be willing to let it go at the auctioneers starting bid should you decide to sell it. Edited August 11, 2023 by Cameraville
