Hi

I am using my M11m with the new Visioflex.

When I look in the viewfinder I see a cross pipe indicating the current focus point. If I zoom in to focus, the camera will focus on the scene based on the focus point was position on the frame.

A couple of questions:

  • Once zoomed in I can move the focus point but it is very slow and cumbersome especially when say the focus point was on the extreme left of the frame and you wanted to focus on something the other side of the scene
  • Is there a way to reset the position of the focus point to the center like on all Nikon cameras?
  • Do you have otherwise any tips to make this more usable?

Thanks

Sorry - misread you question originally, without visoflex you can double tap the screen to centre the focus point.

With the Viso quickest way I have found with M10R is to half press shutter to get out of zoom then move focus point, interested to see if there is another option.

On M10R and CL, double tap the screen centres the focus point, can't imagine M11 would be any different so give it a try.😀

That works of course, but if I am keeping my eye on the electronic viewfinder the LV display is deactivated.

Hi,
I ‘ve done some tests and found that :
- If you map the rear wheel (or Fn button) to ‘Live View’ and press twice that wheel (or button) it will remap the focus point to the center of the frame.
- If you disable / enable LV from the menu ( ‘LV’ button on the main menu screen), the focus point position is kept.

Hello all.

I disabled the “auto zoom” feature, and instead mapped the small button next to the shutter button to “auto zoom” instead.

Then I usually tap the rear screen to move the focus point where I want it, then zoom there via the button by the shutter.  Hope that helps some.

I wish there was a way to keep the focus point in the middle, or where you last left it.

Frustrating.
