SAH Posted August 3, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Confused. Peak says Micro Clutch strap does not work with Q3, but does with the Q and Q2. (I version of the strap and not L version) Anybody try it anyway? I thought Q bodies were essentially the same with exception of battery and SD access. Is it a case of being unable to access battery and SD when the clutch is on the camera? Is that all? If it is, I really just use the USB-C port for charging and downloading, so it wouldn't matter. Anyone try it?
Advertisement Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 Hi SAH, Take a look here Q3 and Peak Design's Micro Clutch. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
thenick512 Posted August 3, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 3, 2023 Did they specifically say no to the Q3? This documentation may have been prior to them being able to test it. I used mine on my Q3 (I’m pretty sure, can check later today) but have transitioned to Leica hand grip and wrist strap with a PD anchor. SAH Posted August 3, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted August 3, 2023 Ah- that might make sense - they may not have had a Q3 to work with when the design/production happened?

kirkmc Posted August 4, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 4, 2023 I tried it and returned it. The screw that holds the bottom plate prevents the SD card door from opening. That screw is in the exact same place as the Q2, so I don't know why they say that the Q2 is compatible. I also found it very uncomfortable; I have large hands, and it forces your hand in a position that, for me, was not bearable for long. It made it very difficult to get my index finder on the shutter. Doesn't matter. I compared my Q2M to the Q3, and the bottom is exactly the same. Could the Q2 be different than the Q2M?

thenick512 Posted August 4, 2023 Share #10 Posted August 4, 2023 Put the clutch onto my Q3 today and there are no issues at all. I’m not in love with it so going to stick with my q3 hand grip and wrist strap
