Hello guys!
just a quick question. I stumbled upon this leica on the internet.. is this an original „Safari“ or was it repainted? I don’t know of any M4-P Safaris. So I‘m almost currently sure it’s repainted..

The Vulcanite looks like it has simply been covered-over using Olive Green paint......

Exactly.  The sign of a 'high quality' paint job when the black shows underneath.

A proper repaint would remove the original finish down to the bare brass.  Or zinc in this case.  Then apply paint.  If you apply paint on top of the existing finish it will not ‘brass’ but flake off.

Take another look at the picture, this is a brass top plate not zinc (look at the viewfinder surround).

Even a bigger waste. Early run M4-P with a brass top plate. All it really needed was a good CLA.
