i prefer manual focus on the SL series

SL-AF and RF-AF is worlds apart ;)

One does not have to join the L alliance in order to make L mount manual lenses. For instance TTArtisans, Meke.

very true, but they should make a few full manual lenses, with electronics for focus confirmation..simply because their rendering is nice and one can avoid multiple adapters

Samyang has made a well regarded 135/2.0 MF mirrorless lens for Sony and other older DSLRs. Questionable if that model will be around much longer but who knows. There is also a Canon EF version that could be adapted.  https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1110690-REG/samyang_sy135m_e_135mm_f_2_lens_for.html
