ktmrider2 Posted July 13, 2023 Share #1  Posted July 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am getting ready for a long trip through South America on a motorcycle.  I have decided to travel with my M4 and a 35/90 combo.  My favorite 35 for travel at the moment is the 35f2.8 C Biogon.  Now I don't do enough photography to justify Leica's 35 APO but I could justify the Voightlander.  I will be shooting mostly Ektar 100 and love the look and compact size of the C Biogon.  I believe it to be one of the sharpest (possibly the sharpest 35 made today).  Would  the 35 APO from Voightlander give me much difference.  I know I get an f stop but at the cost of a bigger lens. Advertisement Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Hi ktmrider2, Take a look here Voightlander 35f2 APO vs Zeiss 35f2.8 C Biogon. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Torontoamateur Posted July 13, 2023 Share #2  Posted July 13, 2023 I have used the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 C Biogon on an M9, M240, Zeiss ZM ( a wonderful camera BTW) , M6 and M4-P. It is a great lens. If you are used to it stay with it on your trip, No need to gain one F stop and because you know the Zeiss ZM you will have success. It is S H A R P and renders colors perfectly.

If you want to see a detailed test of Zeiss with the two APO lenses go to Sean Reids (subscription) site https://www.reidreviews.com/index.html Or you can take the fact that he pitted the Zeiss 2.8 against the APO's, as opposed to any other lens, all you need to know.
