kinetic Posted June 22, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 22, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I first got the M11, I was able to import into Lightroom easily using the usb-c connection. But lately, it hasn't been working. When I connect the camera and turn it on it shows up as a device in Lightroom Selecting the device, it says there are no photos found If I put the SD card into the SD slot in my MacBook Pro (latest M1), I see all the photos available I've tried all the USB-C slots, and I'm using a Thunderbolt cable (it has the little symbol on it), so it should be fine to transfer the files. I have some unmarked USB-C cables, and those plugged in don't even show up as a device in Lightroom. Here's my setup: 2021 MacBook Pro (M1) Lightroom Classic (latest) Thunderbolt cable M11 in PTP mode Thanks! Here's a screenshot to show that it does show up as a device, but no photos found. FlashGordonPhotography Posted June 22, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2023 Does the Mac show the card in Finder, on the home screen? And do you have any Mac updates? Lately I’ve noticed that my Apple devices do weird shit when wanting an update, like not correctly showing connected drives. AndI know people transfer files this way but personally I avoid having LR copy the files off the camera like the plague. I copy the files to a location of my choice and then import without copying. LR isn’t known for a robust file system. Gordon

Photoworks Posted June 23, 2023 Share #4 Posted June 23, 2023 Leica still has to do work on the firmware to get it to work. Not sure they will, it has been 1.5 years already When I fist got the camera I had tested many cables, USB-C 2.0 was the most compatible. It showed previews in Lightroom too. But I stopped using the camera, and use cards. On my way home I will copy images to the card from IN, if I even used IN. The cable issue was the same to connect iPad FOTOS app. Most cables didn't work well. but funny enough if I use the same cables with Capture one for iPad and on the Computer for tether, they all work fine in PTP.
charlesphoto99 Posted June 23, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 23, 2023 If iIrecall correctly, i think I saw on a LR blog the latest version of LR breaks Leica tethering, so this is most likely related. Happened with Nikon and tethering a couple of iterations back. Between Adobe, Mac, and the camera mfgs it’s like playing a game of whack-a-mole when it comes to tethering.

OK, so it might just be Lightroom having a weird issue. I'll try to see if there's any official posts of this known issue.
