tji Posted June 22, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 22, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I’ve recently purchased a Q2 and have been setting it up. I’m curious what setting you’re all using for the EVF frame rate? Looking online, it seems that this setting was described as follows: “A Variable EVF frame rate menu was added, enabling users to choose between 60fps or 120 fps. For fast moving subjects set 120 fps for a more fluid display of movement (with lower resolution) or choose 60 fps for full resolution.” Does using 120 fps significantly lower the resolution? Thanks, Tom

jaapv Posted June 22, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2023 I think that this one is about “ judge for yourself “. The numbers cannot indicate what visual effect of the viewfinder fits your preferences.
nicci78 Posted June 22, 2023 Share #3 Posted June 22, 2023 Just choose 120 fps no real downside
tji Posted June 22, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted June 22, 2023 Thanks both. While I appreciate this is a matter of personal preference, I was curious to hear others’ insights.
kirkmc Posted June 22, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 22, 2023 I read in a review that 120 fps may hit the battery a lot.

When you select 120, the screen resolution drops noticeably. To see this, try opening the aperture and focusing on jeans or some other fine-meshed surface. You will also get moire if set to 120. That's why I usually use 60. At least on Q3 43 the difference is very noticeable Edited December 8, 2024 by Smogg
