Yes

Would it be an even better fit to buy the Q3 "Wireless Charging Handgrip HG-DC1" (without buying the remote charging pad "Drop XL Wireless Charger"), for a better fit & look, and with the Arca-Swiss plate shape; just keep using the regular charging method provided in the Q3 package already?

The HG-DC1 has a single flange but does NOT fit an ARCA Swiss clamp.

FYI - there are numerous complaints of continuous battery depletion even when the camera is turned off and not in use, due to the electrical contacts on the Leica HG-DC1 OEM handgrip unwittingly inducing a very small reverse current (i.e. drain) from the camera battery, including when the camera is turned off and sitting idle on your desk or in your bag. Some users are reporting that this leads to complete depletion of the camera battery within just a day or two (of non-use). Removing the handgrip when the camera is not in use would alleviate this phenomenon, but most users will find this workaround impractical and onerous.

Incidentally, I really want to put a handgrip on a Q3 43. Has anyone reading this tried putting a Leica OEM Q2 handgrip on a Q3 43? If so, how precise and clean would you describe the fit? How firm or secure is the hold, especially as neither the Q2 nor the Q2 OEM grip have an alignment pin or receiver hole (whereas the Q3 and the HG-DC1 grip for the Q3 do have alignment holes and pins). I have no interest in wireless charging, and I'm very concerned about the idle (power off) battery drain complaints I'm seeing in reviews of Leica's HG-DC1 Q3 handgrip, so I'm considering any and all options (including possibly just covering the three tiny electrical contacts on the bottom of the Q3 43 (which are identical to those on the Q3) with a small piece of gaffer's tape, physically blocking their contact with the three corresponding electrical pins on the Leica HG-DC1 handgrip, thereby (hopefully) preventing the ensuing battery drain issue -- that's all speculative though...no idea if it'll actually work). Does anyone here know if the base plate of the Q3 is identical in shape and dimension to that of the Q3 43, or, for that matter, to that of its predecessor, the Q2? Leica spec's of W x H x D are not measured at the base plate (where the handgrips mount), so I'd love to hear from someone who actually tried installing a Q2 handgrip on a Q3 43, per se. Thanks all!

Q2 grip on Q3 43 here. Perfect dimensions and fit. The base may not have the alignment pin but the grip will align with the body.

Oh, my goodness, Armi!!! This is FABULOUS! Thank you so much for your reply with photo! Wow...this really puts me at ease and allays my concerns. Really appreciate you posting the photo! I don't mean to go off-topic, but while we're here, how are you liking the 43? Any positive or negative surprises you weren't expecting?
