I just spotted one of the best reviews on the YT. ( plus tips on Video settings in second one)

Stunning images and stunning video capabilities overview. If this was posted, sorry and I kindly ask moderatorsto delete this, but given the Sl3 roumors and Q3 announcement I encourage all SL2S users to watch this so you can appreciate what you own and what to appreciate before looking for something new, better etc.

This camera has it all for years to come.

This guy can do wonders. I was just stunned of what this camera can do and this made me appreciate even more what I own andit stopped me looking further.

Let me know what you think.

Enjoy

This review should rather be recommended to those who DON'T own the camera. There are still deficiencies that the SL3 (or a SL3-S) would be expected to redress. Nevertheless I'm glad to see this reviewer has caught up with what I have known since I bought the camera at launch!

As for looking further - I have the Q2 and would happily replace it with a Q3 if the Q3 had no video recording runtime limit; I would then use it alongside the SL2-S (or SL3).

As a photographer the one thing i do really need is a better autofocus. SL2 autofocus is terrible. Yes, for static objects it works, but if you shoot anything that moves it's a huge headache...Good thing for those looking to upgrade from Slv1 is that probably many users will sell the sl2s to get v3, so if you don't really need that much better autofocus, the sl2s is an amazing camera.

He got the SL2-S native colour space wrong, as you can see with the reddish skin tones, the cyan sky and the super green foliage. Then later in the second video, he went entirely nuts when telling people to use Arri's, Canon's, or even Fuji's log flavours. The SL2-S L-log is based on Rec2020. Period.

Why did he get it wrong despite knowing some stuff? He didn't read the manual and technical details, as it explicitly states that L-log is Rec2020 because young males tend never to read up on details. Better tinker around and believe in your genius, feeling entitled and then spread your wisdom on YT.

I think Leica could have done much better integrating the video options.

Documentation was hard to find, and the Rec2020 is not a standard curve, but they did publish technical data later.

Davinci Resolve has the best implementation for L-LOG out of the box. The colors are nicer than all the 3rd party options out there.
