Advertisement Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 Hi stindiri, Take a look here Q3 - Leica Looks. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Trankster Posted March 8, 2024 Share #42 Posted March 8, 2024 Anyone know how or if you can remove the Leica Looks from the Q3? I found it easy to add all the Looks, but realized I may never use some of them.
ksrhee Posted March 8, 2024 Share #43 Posted March 8, 2024 Not sure if you can remove it individually. The only way I know is to reset the camera.

ksrhee Posted March 9, 2024 Share #46 Posted March 9, 2024 (edited) I just discovered that if you got to the settings, camera settings, and Leica Looks in the app, you can individually delete the looks. Edited March 9, 2024 by ksrhee
Miltz Posted March 9, 2024 Share #47 Posted March 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica Looks is dead on arrival. Why? The Q3 has no color matching raw support in photoshop. So to use any of Leica's looks you have to shoot jpg. At least with Fuji you have full Adobe Camera raw support. I can't fathom why Fuji has support and Leica doesn't.

Perhaps we can start some sort of petition to even get the standard Leica profiles in Adobe camera raw, let alone the looks. Even the X2D has native color support. Leica and Adobe need to fix this.

audebarge Posted March 16, 2024 Share #50 Posted March 16, 2024 I do enjoy playing with the Leica looks my philosophy is that I try to take a good shot with the look and use the jpg otherwise I always have the raw file as a fallback. One of my best shot so far using the Leica look blue Welcome, dear visitor! David There is no Q3 support in Adobe. Yes Adobe reads the DNG files, but there is zero color support which is extremely odd.

I am generally very satisified with DXO’s Photolab 6 for raw processing, though I have a small problem with the colour rendering of reds. DXO is going to look into this. David I actually really like the standard Leica profile colors and it’s a real shame Adobe doesn’t support any one of them. Not to mention the Leica Looks. Does DXO has native color support? Or does it just open the files like Adobe?
ksrhee Posted March 16, 2024 Share #55 Posted March 16, 2024 Maybe we could have an enterprising photographer to create the custom profiles for the Leica Looks profile for Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom. I have over the years purchased some third-party solutions, and they gave me more options to experiment with.

The "Adobe Standard" profile is customised for each camera and is supposed to give a consistent "look" for all supported cameras as a starting point. In fact "Adobe Standard v2" is now available for the Q3. What Adobe doesn't provide for the Q3 and most, if not all, Leica cameras are "Camera Matching" profiles. Unfortunately most of the "Camera Matching" profiles I've looked at for other cameras don't really match the OOC jpegs very well at all.

dsalamena Posted March 16, 2024 Share #58 Posted March 16, 2024 I always shoot raw, would it be possibile to process the file in camera and produce a jpg file with a Leica Look applied? I believe Fuji cameras allow this option that is quite useful as one is not obliged to shoot raw + jpg for every single picture.
ksrhee Posted March 16, 2024 Share #59 Posted March 16, 2024 I think we are talking about two different things. If you shoot DNG+JPG, JPG files will have the Leica Look you selected. We are talking about applying the ink-camera profile in Lightroom to the raw files. When I shoot Fuji Raw, I can apply an in-camera profile when I develop the file since Adobe supports it.

As second best option it would be great to process the raw file in camera (or within the Leica Fotos app) and apply the profile in post processing and produce a jpg file with the preferred Look.
