I called around 12, finally found one with stock the same month.

The tiny stores in the UK are reliably getting 4 ish per month, this shop only had a wait list of three.

I have done this with most of the Leica items I have been after over the last 15 years and have usually managed to get what I want within a week or two. A bit more problematic now due to Brexit, but if you are prepared to put in the legwork you can get what you want, somewhere, within a short time. I'm currently in no rush so waiting doesn't bother me. 

I got my original Q from an employee of Harrods who bought it with his staff discount on release then immediately re-sold it to make a profit. It was unopened.

There isn’t any alternative that’ll satisfy you if what you want it a Q3.

Agree with that sentiment 100%. I wish I had the Q3 in my hands now, but that is beyond my control. Luckily, I have a camera that will take photos while I wait (as do pretty much everyone with a smartphone).

I don’t think it means anything. I spoke with B&H today and they said: “We reached out to Leica on 8/14 and we don’t have a date.” This is for an order placed on May 25th.

I got a call from the Leica Store in Los Angeles last week, they told me my name was up on the wait list and I should be able to buy one at the next delivery.  I was told it should be this week.  HOWEVER, I decided to buy a mint Q2 for 4k this week so I won't be getting the Q3.  If anyone is in LA and wants to have my slot on the wait list, LMK.  If you bring the $ I'll meet you at the Leica Store and you could buy it. I just couldn't swing $6600 (sales tax in West Hollywood is 10.25%).

Also wanting to see what these smaller Sony’s have to offer. My question is, how to make a compact hi-resolution Sony? All the E mount fast lenses are very large. Wish the f2.5 G master lenses were a stop faster.

Called the Leica Store today once more and was told that I could expect delivery in November. Am now on a second list in another big multi brand store here in Berlin. Should have placed my wish there sooner, as they successfully delivered orders of mid June already 🤷‍♂️

I just received notice from Leica store in Bellevue, WA that my Q3 is on the way from Germany and I should get it early next week.  I place my order the end of May and was told at the time probably in December, so this is unexpected news.  Can hardly wait to join the Q3 image thread, though have enjoyed the Q2 image thread and all the great photos captured with that fine camera.

I also got the call from Bellevue, but I told them I would stick with my Q2 Reporter. I hope you enjoy you Q3!

I've just placed my Q3 order with Leica UK today so hopefully will receive it in 3 or 4 days (they're usually fairly quick with DHL).

Looking forward to the upgrade from my Q2!

Have they told you they have stock? Nobody has stock even Leica UK website.

I had registered interest in June and they have a monthly lottery of all the registered people when new stock comes available. If you "win" the lottery for that month then you are invited to buy one.

After decades of using Nikons, Sonys & mostly Canon cameras, I rented a Q2 in May to see if the Leica look & experience was all it was marketed to be. I did enjoy the experience and output enough to put in an order for the Q3, but I have to say, my enthusiasm is quickly waning after a few months of waiting for the camera, with no delivery ETA in sight. Not a very auspicious start to my Leica "experience". 😞

Same. Had terrible experience with B&H and with three Leica stores in three cities. Pretty much the worst possible way to spend $6000. Go to a Cartier store and they treat you like royalty instead. Because let's be honest, that's what it is for most people. A camera jewel. Otherwise we'd all have bought the same-sensor Sony four years ago.
