The Q3 also does a great job in Black & White. Beautiful rendering and gorgeous files to work with.

Yes: I dont usually like B&W, but this is good. I am tempted to have a go myself. I see you are a film buff also!  What's that thing for on the LH loudspeaker?

The thing on the speaker is a heavy piece of wool felt with a hole cut to go around the tweeter. It helps to tame high-end audio refractions, it helps the treble to sound more "natural." Yes, the black and white has a very filmic look. Thanks for your comments.

The felt sounds like a good idea. I have given up making loudspeakers. These are B&W. I thought I would try B&W -- if I tidied up first, the photo would have to wait until next week!

But, though I still agree that the Q3 (and PhotoLab) do an excellent job of the B&W, without much effort, I think I prefer the colour version.

@SingingSnapper  Nice.  Did you "photoshop" the sky in either version?  (FWIW, I like the B&W better -- but both are great!)

Thanks.  It is the actual sky, I did use a LR preset which I then adapted.  I used the polariser in Nik Color, and converted to BW in Silver Efex using the red filter and the Ilford Pan 50 with 13% Silver which is my go to for BW conversions with a good deep blue sky.  I also prefer the BW in this case.  i try to use processing to bring out what I like about the colours from cameras I use.
