Richard Alton Posted May 7, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wanting to chimp and get a closer view of a picture I had taken, I recently tried to turn the command dial on my M8 and found it stuck. The arrow functions work, so it's not a tragedy if the dial remains stuck. Is this a common problem on the M8? And can it be fixed at a reasonable cost? Any advice is appreciated. jaapv Posted May 7, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 7, 2023 Never heard of this; somebody else might. The repair will not be cheap, if at all possible.
david strachan Posted May 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2023 Try squirting a bit of electronic cleaner into the command dial. ..and gently work back and forth until free. I once had trouble with one of my M8's command dial...it would jump in its magnifications. I think dander accumulated and needing cleaning. This worked well..."CO Contact Cleaner" made by CRC in a spray can. Says'...Precision electronic cleaning solvent...leaves no residue...low in toxicity..." I've used it on other electronica too...now wouldn't be without it. Welcome, dear visitor! Graham (G4FUJ) Posted May 8, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2023 The important bit with contact cleaner is the "no residue" statement
