stuny Posted May 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) After finishing a superb late lunch at Daniel Boulud's latest restaurant (Le Pavillon, At the southeast corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Place), we had a lot of time to kill before seeing a play, so we walked about, as we are wont to do. We eventually went into the arboretum on Broadway just south of Lincoln Center where we discovered a group of Eastern European musicians (mostly Russian) doing a sound check and some rehearsal for the evening's free concert. 1st photo is of Inna Barmash with the Trio Fadolin behind her, 2nd photo is of Irena Ginsberg (a translator, as well); and the third is the full group with Irena's husband, composer Alexander Zhurbin on piano, and on clarinets Zisl Slepovitch and Sam Sadigursky. Guest Posted May 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2023 Boulud you said? Wonderful, and one of my favorite chefs. I haven't been to the one you locate, but I'll try and get a table there at some point. Those good folk rehearsing even had their suitcases up on that stage, looks very nice and casual.
