Patrickfoley@mac.com Posted June 4, 2023 Author Share #21 Posted June 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M11 went back back to Germany at the beginning of May for a warranty repair/replacement. No idea how long it will be before I get it back. I certainly haven’t had any indication from Leica. At the time I took it in, I was pretty relaxed about losing the camera for a while as I had recently taken delivery of a new M11 Monochrom. And I’m enjoying it a lot. But you can imagine how I felt when the frame select lever on the M11M fell off as I was walking recently. Luckily I was in a very quiet place and heard the slight noise as it (and the screw which holds it in place) hit the ground. This was a three week old camera at the time! This tale of two cameras is beginning to make me wonder if Leica have some serious quality control problems. And it’s also beginning to make me wonder whether I should further reduce my investment in Leica gear. I have already swapped my SL gear for a Nikon Z8 system. drDave Posted November 19, 2023 Share #22 Posted November 19, 2023 I just started having this issue --- with both my M11 and my M11 Monochrom. Nothing is different. Same mix of Coded and Uncoded Lens. All lens choices are greyed out.

Normally you should not have any choice with coded lenses given that the "Manual M" lens detection option is (or at least should be) disabled. Leica eventually gave up on fixing mine - because they realised when they hadn’t fixed it after five months in Germany that asking me to give up my camera for another five months to try again wasn’t acceptable. So they gave me a new camera.
